Principal's Message - May 3rd
Dear Marilla Primary Families,
We welcomed a new group of incoming Kindergarten children and their families on Wednesday evening. It is hard to believe the incoming Kindergarteners will be the class of 2037! It was great to see so many new faces and connect with some familiar ones as well. The next opportunity for the families and children to visit Marilla will be on Tuesday, May 14th from 9:15 am -10:15 am. This is our Morning At Marilla event. If your child attends the UPK program, please come at 9:15 am with your child and after the event is over, we will walk your child to their UPK class. Kindergarten screening for students not enrolled in our district UPK classes will take place on May 21st. Kindergarten screening for UPK children is on May 24th as part of their school day.
Today was Country Western Day at Marilla Primary. Students and staff are having fun dressing up in the weekly theme to show our school spirit! Next Friday, the theme is Dress Like Your Favorite Teacher. A full list of the theme dress days for the rest of the year are on our webpage. The link is also here for your reference: https://www.iroquoiscsd.org/cms/lib/NY19000365/Centricity/ModuleInstance/11326/School%20Spirit%20Fridays%202324.jpg
Our 3rd and 4th grade visits to the Intermediate School will begin next week. 3rd graders will visit the II on the morning of Thursday, May 9th to spend some time with Mr. Harding and tour the building, and 4th graders will visit the morning of Monday, May 13th. Mr. Harding will be sending a Transition Letter to 3rd and 4th grade families. Please look for this letter that will include important dates for the planned activities for transition.
Our PTO meeting will be on Wednesday, May 8th at 1:45 pm. This will be a special meeting with snacks to recognize all of our volunteers who helped organize great programs and experiences for our students this year. We will post the TEAMS Link so if you are unable to attend in person, you can join in online!
As the weather gets warmer, please help us remind students about appropriate dress. Now that the weather is nice, the students will be outside more. For safety reasons, flip flops should not be worn by primary students. Please have your child wear sneakers or rubber soled shoes with a back for safe play.
Thank you for your support. Have a great weekend!
