Principal's Message - May 17th
Dear Marilla Primary Families.
This week, we welcomed our incoming kindergarten students and their families to Morning at Marilla! This is the 2nd opportunity our families had to visit Marilla and interact with our faculty and staff. Next week, Kindergarten Screening for students who are not currently in the District UPK program will take place at Marilla Primary on Tuesday, May 21st. Children who are currently in our UPK program will be screened at Marilla Primary on Friday, May 24th.
This is the time of year for field trips too! Last week, the 3rd grade students visited the Buffalo Museum of Science. Yesterday, the Kindergarten students had fun on their field trip to Akron Acres Farm. Today, the 1st graders are enjoying the outdoors at Beaver Meadows. Thank you to the Marilla PTO for supporting these trips!
Next week is another busy week at Marilla Primary!
Monday, May 20th is our Arts Appreciation Day and the PTO Book Fair and Family Social.
During the day, the Chorus Concert for our 3rd and 4th grade students at 2:00 pm at the Marilla Church next door. Doors will open at 1:45 pm. Later that evening, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm will be the Marilla Art Show, Book Fair, and Family Social. Please note the time change from what was originally sent out. Due to numerous requests because of busy spring evenings, the time of the event is adjusted to begin at 5:00 pm and end at 7:00 pm. The students will have a chance to visit the Book Fair during the day as well. Be sure to come in and take a look at all of the fantastic art pieces displayed!
Next Tuesday, May 21st, all three primary buildings will be hosting a 4th grade band and orchestra concert in the Middle School auditorium at 7:00 PM. We look forward to seeing our future II students on stage together for the first time, and families who plan to attend the concert are encouraged to swing by the Intermediate gymnasium for the Budget Vote.
On Thursday, May 23rd, our 3rd graders will have the opportunity to attend the Bisons Kids Day game with students from Elma and Wales for a special field trip organized by our PE department.
Parents of current 3rd and 4th grade students, please follow the link below to view a welcome letter from Mrs. Bonczyk, who will be serving as the II school counselor next year.
As the letter states, the II team is also interested in learning more about our rising 4th and 5th graders from families. Please take a moment to complete the appropriate input form for your child to help ensure a smooth transition as the II team gets to know each student. Follow the appropriate grade-level link below to access this form for your child or children.
