Mrs. Stanfield's Message Feb 28, 2025
Dear Marilla Primary Families,
It was great welcoming everyone back this week and hearing about the fun they had over the mid-winter break. We have settled back in our routines and the students are engaging in many learning experiences! This week, the lessons students are engaged in were enriched by members of our community.
This week, the 2nd and 3rd grade students enjoyed participating in Buffalo Sabres Students of the Game lessons during PE classes. The students received a cool Sabres shirt. Thank you to Mrs. Peresan for arranging this experience every year!
The Kindergarten students are learning about the Native Americans in reading. The students were visited by Ms. Patterson and members of the Tonawanda Seneca tribe. Our guests shared information about the Native American culture, shared artifacts, and performed a dance. Thank you to Mrs. Murray for arranging this visit to bring the Native American culture to life for our youngest learners!
Each year, Dr. Heather Buccieri, Orthodontist, visits Marilla Primary during Dental Health Month to teach our students about keeping our teeth healthy. The students in UPK – 3rd grade were reminded how to brush and floss their teeth, protect their teeth, and met Dudley the Dinosaur. Dr. Heather graciously gave every child a Healthy Teeth Kit that includes a toothbrush and dental floss! Thank you, Dr. Heather! And a special thank you to our school nurse, Ms. White-Thomson for arranging this visit.
A reminder that next week Thursday, March 6th will be an early release day. We will begin dismissing students in Kdg – 3rd grade, who being picked up at 11:40 am. Buses will depart at noon. UPK students will be dismissed at noon. If there will be a change in your child’s dismissal plan, please send in a note. Also, school will not be in session on Friday, March 7th due to a Superintendent Conference Day.
As always, thank you for your partnership and support.
Have a great weekend!
